Announcing PyData Virginia 2025
A marquee data science, machine learning, and AI conference returns to Charlottesville
The Charlottesville Data Science organizing team is pleased to announce PyData Virginia 2025, a new data science and machine learning conference coming to Charlottesville, Virginia. The conference will bring together hundreds of data scientists, data engineers, and other technologists and data enthusiasts for two days of keynotes, talks, tutorials, and networking. To organize the conference, we have partnered with NumFOCUS, a national 501(c)(3) organization that plays a critical role in supporting the open-source scientific computing ecosystem.

Conference Dates
The PyData Virginia 2025 conference will take place on April 18-19, 2025.
Conference Schedule and Venues
The first day will be at the Violet Crown Cinema on the Downtown Mall and will include keynotes, conference talks, and networking.
The second day will consist of in-depth, practical tutorials about tools, techniques, and methods in data science and machine learning. The venue for the second day is still to be determined — stay tuned.
Ticket Sales
Tickets for PyData Virginia 2025 are now available. To purchase tickets, please visit the PyData Virginia 2025 website.
Please note that the talks and tutorials days are ticketed separately. To attend both days, you'll need to purchase both a Talks Pass and a Tutorials Pass. If you are interested in attending just one of the days, you may buy a Talks Pass or a Tutorials Pass individually.
If your employer might pay for you to attend PyData Virginia 2025, please explore that option first and register at the Corporate rate. Ticket sales at the Corporate rate help us keep the conference financially viable and keep tickets affordable for students and those needing financial aid.
Call for Proposals
The PyData Virginia 2025 Call for Proposals is now open. We are seeking proposals for both 30-minute conference talks and 90-minute tutorials. Speakers will receive a free pass for both days of the conference.
The deadline to submit proposals is Monday, February 10, 2025.
